The Labraha's
The Labraha family has been growing apples and other farm products in the Kinnaur district of India since the 1980s and since then the family business has been passed down through the generations, and been a staple of the local community.
Located at a height of 3000 meters in the dry temperate zone of the Himalayas, this region is home to the best quality Apple in the whole of India. This region is also the only region in India where chilgoza (Pinus gerardiana) a dry fruit native to the Himalayas is found. Due to the climate of this region, other dry fruits like Almonds, Walnuts, and Apricots are found here and locals use them to extract the oil. Not only this, two products of Kinnaur- Chuli oil (wild apricot) and Kaala zeera (Black Caraway) have got the Geographical Indications (GI) tag from the Registrar General of GI, Chennai.
At the Labraha's we are passionate about growing the highest quality apples as well as pulses, dry fruits (apricots, walnuts, almonds, chilgoza), oils, and kala zeera (Black Caraway). We take pride in our sustainable farming practices and continue to do so in future.
We hereby invite you all to experience the best locally grown produce and witness the rich culture of Kinnaur, our traditions and how can we forget the serene beauty which attracts thousands of people to Kinnaur with the help of this website.
